Semiya Payasam | Kerala Style
Semiya Payasam is a delicious item in the category of payasams (kheer) in South India, especially in Kerala.
Ingredients
Vermicelli – 100 gm
Milk – 300 ml
Fat – 30 gm
Sugar – 75 gm
Saffron – a pinch
Sultanas – 30 gm
Cashew Nuts – 30 gm
Cardamoms – A few
Method
- Break the vermicelli into small pieces
- Heat a little ghee in the pan
- Fry the vermicelli a little.
- In another bowl, boil one liter of milk
- Put the vermicelli into the oven and bring it to a boil.
- Boil for five minutes, then add enough sugar
- Stir well and then take it out of the stove
- Mix in a little cardamom powder
- If there is no cardamom powder, crush the cardamom
- Heat ghee in another pan and fry it with cashew nuts and raisins.
- Add this mixture to the kheer and mix well.
- Everything is ready, Serve warm.
